Cremation and The Funeral
As the number of families that choose cremation as the final disposition for their loved one increases we need to educate ourselves all the available service options. Legacy Pre-Planning counselors are the best equipped to explain to you what all the options are when it comes to cremation services. Things like, will the cremation happen before services or after the services, will we gather at the funeral home or some other place, can I have a service in my church even though my loved one will be cremated and the list goes on. There is no right or wrong, but rather how can we best remember, honor and celebrate a life well lived. To not gather and share the memories of the life we have cherished is not only saying that the life didn’t matter, but also is not allowing us the opportunity to grieve the loss, to laugh, to cry and to share with family and friends the importance of that life. Contrary to common thinking the choice of cremation does not remove the opportunity to celebrate and remember. Cremation service can range from the most elaborate to a very simple service.
When considering cremation as the final disposition consider all your options and seek the advice of your Legacy Pre-Planning counselor. They can help guide you as to the service that best remembers and honors the wishes of you loved one.
